Contemp. marbled brds., orange title shield, gilt., covers sl. rubb. Upper outer hinge w. some chips and loss of part of the title shield. [n2, *8, **4, A-Z8, Aa8, Bb2]. (IV, XXIV, 405, I (errata) pp.). (Some light spotting here and there). (Upper free endp. an inscription in ink, 18th c., giving the Dutch translation title and translator's name; On the half title / French title an inscription and annotations in ink, early 19th century.). A very good copy in its original marbled brds. Frederiks / vd. Branden, p. 763, only mention a 1778 edition: Van der Aa, vol. 10, S, p. 320: The Lusiade contains, in verse, the discovery of the Indies by the Portuguese.
