A wanted poster issued by the FBI for two escaped Italian prisoners of war, both of whom fled from the Italian Service Unit at the Presidio in San Francisco. About 51,000 Italians were taken as prisoners of war beginning in 1942. After an armistice was signed in the fall of 1943, the US considered the prisoners potential allies, forming Italian Service Units to fill job vacancies in the US. About 45,000 prisoners took part in the program. It is unclear why these two prisoners fled, or whether they were ever captured. GOOD condition. A few horizontal and vertical fold creases present, with some other creasing and wrinkling. Minor toning. Mailing address crossed out in ink on the reverse. Good .

We have had another version of this where the figure about to be hanged was colored red. 19 by 27 ½ inches. Poster reads in English and Arabic, "We stand against oppression and bloody terrorism in Iraq. We have decided to fight. We have decided to victory." The Iraki (Iraqi) Revolutionary Communists formed from a split with the Revolutionary Committee of the Iraqi Communist Party. The Revolutionary Communists objected to the Iraqi Communist Party's alliance with Baathist rule in Iraq, advocating militant action against them. The group fell apart in the 1980s after the assassinations of several of its leaders (see Wikipedia for previous information). POOR/FAIR condition. Several horizontal fold creases to the piece, with heavy curling at the bottom edge. Other creases and wrinkles present. A few small tears and some scuffing along the extremities. Poor .

Connections was a paper from Madison, Wisconsin, published from 1967 to 1969 and harnessing a militant college campus energy to discuss the sometimes violent confrontations that occurred between police and protesters in Madison (see Insiders History of the Vietnam Era Underground Press, Part 2 for previous information). This with a lengthy article on Black history, focusing on activists and leaders such as Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. DuBois, and Marcus Garvey, among others. Also featured is a centerfold spread of poetry by d.a. levy, including part of his "suburban monastery death poem. Another page also has some levy poetry. Levy killed himself in late November of 1968. Rear page is devoted to the San Francisco Mime Troup of San Francisco, at a show in Madison, Wisconsin. This includes many photos of the performance, along with associated words. FAIR/GOOD condition. A large piece of the paper torn from the top leaf 5/6, resulting in some loss of text in the Black history article. The centerfold pages have their lower corners torn off, with some loss of text to one levy poem. A few other tears present in the interior. Fold crease present, with moderate to heavy toning and some soiling. Moderate chipping, tearing and creasing along the extremities. Fair .
