With a nice engraved masthead illustration spanning the upper front page, featuring a locomotive train engine pulling a few cars, as well as the depiction of several town and country houses. Of note in this paper are two pieces of poetry, one by Whittier (The Frost Spirit) and one by Tennyson (The Ending and Beginning Year), as well as many short and longer articles on various news items, including discussion of California and the gold found therein. Also included are short pieces relating to raising and care of various farm animals, fruit trees, etc. In GOOD condition. Appears to have been disbound from a larger collection. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present, with otherwise minor creasing and edgewear. Minor to moderate browning to the paper. Good .
