Log of a Voyage to the Mediterranean and Back on the S.S. Creole Prince November 1908 to March 1909

Soft Cover. 124p log of a sea voyage on a a cargo steamer in a ruled exercise book which is nearly full with 12 passengers leaving Victoria Dock London on November 24th 1908 returning to Liverpool about March 19th 1909. The journal is written in a clear hand by an unnamed young man with comment initially on his cold baths, other passengers and much detail about time and distance. Victoria dock to Tilbury to load 18 tons of gunpowder - signaled a warship HMS Aboukit en route from Gibraltar to Alexandria. Tunis, Malta (ashore at the Golden and Silver gates), Famagousta in Cyprus Haiffa Jaffa ; transfers to S.S, Rowan Prince carrying cotton, oranges, dairy seed. Algeirs. Collision in harbour - Turkish warships and etc. The log peters out as the ship nears Liverpool. - though there may be a page missing. An page charts coal consumption and distance throughout January and February - but a page may be missing. See scans. . Good

The Fortune Teller has 94p including a section on the Art of Fortune telling by the grounds of Tea or a coffee cup. The book is clean and tight without marks or signatures. Lotos Amateur Dramatic Club, 1887. Folded Card. Folded card with Egyptian motif on the front cover introducing the LOTOS Amateur Dramatic Clubs Performances at the Lyric Hall Ealing on Jan 19th 1887. Performances of Uncle at 8pm followed by the well known farce Chiselling with cast lists etc. A concert hall in the Broadway adjoining an older building was opened in 1881. Known as the Lyric Hall by 1883, it was replaced in 1899 by the Lyric Restaurant and the New or Ealing Theatre, later called the Ealing Hippodrome, Little Titch, above, appeared there, then a cinema (Palladium), and was demolished in 1958. In VG condition unmarked but for a 10 mm tear at the free edge. Now at W5 2 NR Ealing Broadway. Uncommon. See scans . Near Very Good
