Framed certificate - printed with a decorative border reading: Certificate : That the Bearer, Isabella Forsyth, an unmarried woman resided in the Parish from infancy to the date hereof, behaving soberly an honestly, free from Public Scandal, or any ground of Church Censure, known to us, is attested at Kirkowan, this twenty seventh day of May, 1844 by Anthony Stewart, Minister (and) Alexander William, Elder. Has been well used and folded before faming. Some soiling in old frame measuring 8 x 6 1/2. with a copy of the 1842 census identifying Isabella living at Kildarroch with her father, a farmer, her mother and siblings.See scans . Good

Difficult to judge whether this sketch is original or a high quality print.There are initials bottom right - LMc? Measures 16 x 12 (the picture 13x 9). Blind stamps of Birmingham Free Libraries and Birkbeck College with withdrawn stamp. Book tight and clean however with some rubbing to corners and some marks to leather on spine.
