A key on the front of the slipcase which is repeated under a splendid vignette on the north-west section map explains 24 symbols for road quality administrative boundaries roads forbidden to motorists etc. Each map has a period car from the De Dion Bouton company's range on its cover. A detailed and colourful series of maps that capture the spirit of pre-First War Frace. All maps VG condition. Slipcase worn in places but serviceable. Images available.

Details such as the staffing and pay in the dockyards the names of the King's gardeners and the various colonial administrators make this a treasure trove of information- Captain Bligh is named as the Governor of New South Wales- though the details on America are limited to the colonies. Some minor worm holing but overall Good to VG condition. Images available.

London, Unpublished. 1835. Book, Section of the Proposed Railway from London to Birmingham. A set of gradient plans bound in one volume each size 70 by 24 cm. Nine pages. Vertical scale 100 feet to the inch. Unpublished so presumably working drawings or plans intended for the original London to Birmingham line. No date but circa 1835. On paper with some hand colouring. Each page shows between 10 to 12 miles of line with towns canals hills etc. all clearly indicated above the section. Below each section are some contract numbers in pencil. The London end of the line begins by the towpath of the Regents Canal and the pencil note below reads Contract no.1 B Camden to River Brent. Title is on a label to the front cover. Both buff paper covers are nibbled at the edges and the front cover detached though the binding is otherwise intact. There is some staining to the edges of the first few pages but overall the plans are in Good condition. Images available.

Large folding maps of London printed by and based on the Ordnance Survey one inch to the mile maps for the Royal Commission on London Traffic.The west sheet covers an area from Wembley down to Richmond and Twickenham (size 90 by 56 cm.); east sheet covers an area as far as Ilford in the north and to east Kent in the south and includes the eastern docks (size 90 by 66 cm); the central sheet covers an area from Hampstead across to Hackney in the north and from Earlsfield across to Forest Hill in the south, and includes the western part of London docks to Millwall. A key provides information on main railway lines, suburban lines, underground lines, main line termini, large goods and coal depots and to smaller depots. All streets are shown and the railway lines and depots are emphasised in bold black print. Some colour. Has been folded. VG condition. Very Good.

With New Lists and an Improved Kalendar. Size 13 by 7 cm. In leather-covered card boards and spine. 176 pages. In addition to the calendar the almanac includes details of stage coach routes and times cab fares mail deliveries etc. The lists referred to include the peers and knights of Scotland bankers churchmen excisemen masons medical professionals members of the House of Commons officers in the British army and Admirals in the navy and these in such detail that pages 112 to 154 are in effect an early version of the Army Lists of the Victorian period and after. The last 18 pages list the key British military and civilian personnel in India. The boards are worn at the edges though the card is sound the leather spine cracked but the binding sound. G to VG overall. The rear endpapers contain some contemporary hand-written notes referring to shooting (?) in Scotland. Images available.
