(Gable, Clark). Harris, Martin.
A Beautiful Original Photograph of Clark Gable Seated at a Restaurant's Window Table in Arnhem Holland While Filming Betrayed.
Circa 1953. 1953. 1953. Fine. - A 14 inch high by 11 inch wide black & white photograph of Clark Gable seated at a window table in a restaurant in Arnhem, Holland during the filming of "Betrayed". Pictured in profile in a checkered blazer over white shirt and tie, his right elbow resting on the back of the neighboring chair and left elbow resting on the table, the actor looks across the remains of a meal at his unseen companion. A Volkswagon Beetle and a bus or trolley in front of peaked roof brownstone houses are viewed through the large windows. This is one of a very few prints pulled from the original negative in the 1990's and offered for sale at a special fund-raising event. Fine. Life magazine photographer Martin Harris evocatively captures Gable's suave presence. The photographer Martin Harris (1908-1971) worked for "Stars and Stripes" during the second World War. He later worked for "Look", "Life", "Colliers", and "The Saturday Evening Post" among other periodicals. Two of his photographs were selected as covers for "Life" magazine during his time with that periodical. Fine .

Goddard, Paulette (1910-1990); and DeMille, Cecil B. (1881-1959).
A Vintage Publicity Photograph of Director Cecil B. Demille Giving the Beautiful Hollywood Star Paulette Goddard a Bath on the Set of "Unconquered".
Hollywood, CA: Paramount Pictures, (1945). (1945). - A 9-1/4 inch high by 7-1/4 inch wide glossy black & white vintage photograph depicting the film's director Cecil B. DeMille giving the beautiful Paulette Goddard a bath on the set of the Paramount Pictures Western "Unconquered". The number and date "11420-2/45" are printed in white along the bottom right of the image. The edges of the photograph are rubbed and there is some minor creasing. Very good. This a vintage publicity photo, not a reproduction, sent out to newspapers and periodicals of the period. Text from a printed press release tipped onto the verso reads: "DON'T FORGET MY BACK, C.B. -- What DeMille is thinking but what he isn't saying is that a screen bathing takes courage two ways, on the part of the rubber and the rubbee. Witness the famous DeMillean technique, viz. seizing the scalp firmly in the right hand and tightening the lips (yours, not Goddard's). Now, says the friend of the plumbers of America, let's try it that way." The American actress Paulette Goddard (1910-1990) started her career as a child fashion model before performing on Broadway as a Ziegfield Girl. She appeared in several films before attaining success starring opposite Charlie Chaplin in "Modern Times" and then "The Great Dictator". Goddard married Chaplin, and was subsequently married to Burgess Meredith and Erich Maria Remarque. She and Cecil B. DeMille apparently quarreled on the set of "Unconquered" when she refused to do a stunt that would have required her to have fireballs thrown at her. She was justified as the stuntwoman who filled in for her was burned. Despite this, it is said that DeMille never forgave her and her career suffered. Very good .

En Su Proprio Derecho": A Vintage Lobby Card with an Original Photo for the Mexican Release of the Western Movie "the Dude Ranger" from a Story by Zane Grey
Mexico: Distributed by Guaranteed Pictures de Mexico, circa [1934]. [1934]. Mexico: Distributed by Guaranteed Pictures de Mexico, circa [1934]. [1934]. Good. - sc An original lobby or window card for the movie based on a story by Zane Grey starring George O'Brien, Irene Hervey, Henry Hall, James Mason, and Alma Chister. The 12 inch high by 17 inch wide lobby card (or possibly a window card) is mounted onto cardboard, with an original 7-1/4 inch high by 9-1/2 inch wide black & white photograph depicting a scene from the film mounted at right. The edges and corners are quite rubbed and worn with some slight damage to the title at top. There is some staining to the right border which barely touches the right edge of the photograph. The photo itself is only very slightly scratched. An unusual lobby or window card for this Western directed by Edward F. Cline. Please note that the Western actor, James Mason (also known as Jim Mason) was an American cowboy actor and is not to be confused with the English dramatic actor. Good .
