Signed a-d in fours, followed by quire e of six leaves, followed by quires A-Aaaa, each of four leaves. Woodcut initials, head and tail-pieces. Lacks half-title (a1), engraved frontispiece of the arms of the cathedral of Toledo, and Aaaa4 (blank?). Small marginal stain in upper margins of quires Ee-Pp (not affecting text); very occasional marginal spotting. Contemporary sheep (covers heavily scuffed); gold-tooled spine with red leather title label; gold-tooled edges. Front pastedown is of pink paper (with signs of a removed bookplate), rear pastedown is of marbled paper. ***** A defence of the primacy of the see of Toledo over the claims of that of Seville, written under the pseudonym, Nicasio Sevillano, by the Jesuit, Juan de Campoverde (1658-1737), who held the chair of Theology at the University of Alcalà.
