A very scarce work, dated circa 1858 via Jisc.This delightful mid-nineteenth century children's work consists of numerous brief satirical passages, short stories, and puns, interspersed with charming vignette woodcuts.With title page removed, and lacking a further eight leaves, being pages 29-30, 33-36, 49-50, and 55-62. Titles of the amusing passages within this volume include 'A Child with a Double Head', 'Unique Account by an Illiterate Mason', 'Curious Turnip, Resembling the Human Form', and 'Maxims from the Burmese&apos.In the original paper wraps.
