The life-story of "The man with the loudest voice in the Army", who retired after thirty-eight years of continuous service, twenty-five of them as a warrant officer. He took part in many Royal occasions. He appeared, playing himself, in the film about the Guards Armoured Division, "They Were Not Divided". Pp.191, portrait frrontispiece + 19 further black & white photo illustrations, pencil owner's name to front free endpaper, slight toning to pages. Brick red boards, slight sunning to base of spine. Dustwrapper has creased scuffs and some edge loss including publisher's name to base of spine, but is now in a removable clear protective wrap. VG/Good.
