Shallow loss of leather at extremities of spine. Owner bookplate inside front cover. Contents are generally excellent, binding is tight, pages are clean and unmarked, with the exception of a few stains here and there. No foxing. 858 pages of essays, news, reviews, opinion, travel, history. A sample of articles deal with French literature of the 18th century, a journey to Aberystwith, Protestants of Scotland, public parks of London (its "Lungs") , song-writing, the horrors of potential universal suffrage, the Cossacks, the National Gallery, Murder considered as one of the Fine Arts and much more.
