London, Gollancz. 1963, First English translation. Hard Cover, 8vo - over 7? - 9? tall. trsl by Geoffrey Sutton, autobiography of Lionel Terray famed for the second ascent of North Face of Eiger (1947) and a dramatic rescue on it in 1957, includes climbing in the Alps, North Face Eiger, world war two in the Alps with mountain troops, Annapurna, Makalu, Chacraraju and his time guiding, 80 photographs in b&w, 351pp, the dustjacket is rubbed to edges and has been price-clipped, on the underside of the rear panel it has some offsetting from the blue boards where has been slightly damp, this is quite minor, some pages to the rear of the book have been slightly rippled due to long dried out moisture probably just atmospheric dampness as no watermarking is apparent, The leading edge of the upper board has a few dents where something heavy has been sat on it, again this is reasonably minor, all in all a VG copy in similar dustjacket with a few short tears to edges. Very Good/Very Good.
