Emma Andiievska, also known as Emma Andijewska (1931 - ) is a poet, author, artist, and wife of leading emigre literary scholar and author Ivan Koshelivets (1907 - 1999). After escaping Ukraine during WWII, Emma lived in France and the US, before settling in Germany. Publishing over 30 poetry collections, she also wrote several novels and short story compilations, including the current one, which was her second book. Very good .

Ilia Britan (1885 - 1941) was a poet, publicist, and lawyer, who would be persecuted, arrested, and eventually expelled from Russia in 1923 for advocating in front of Lenin for the rights of non-Party members of the Mossoviet (abbreviation for Moscow Soviet - a shadow city administration of the city between the February and the October revolutions and the official city administration during the Soviet period). His current booklet, one of extreme criticism of Soviet policies, written in the form of a letter, was allegedly received by Britan from one of the high-ranking figures of the Communist Party - Nikolai Bukharin (1888 - 1938) - who would indeed be charged with conspiring to overthrow he Soviet State in 1937 and would be executed in 1938. Four years after this publication, in 1928, the letter was openly credited to Bukharin and published by the "Die Weltbühne" journal. Britan moved to France in 1938, was arrested as a foreign national of Jewish origin in 1941, sent to a concentration camp, and executed in December of the same year. Uncommon, with 3 copies at US institutions and none in the trade. Very good .

After emigrating to the US in 1923, he established the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America and founded the United Ukrainian Veterans of America. He was also the founder, executive director, and president of the United Ukrainian American Relief Committee. His current book contained his personal narrative of his time in the army. Very good .

She escaped Russia after the Revolution, first living and studying in former Yugoslavia and then permanenly settling in Paris, where she was very active in the literary and philosophical circles of Russian emigres and very close to Kuprin, Bunin, Berdiaev, Aldanov, etc. "Empty Hands" was her first published work of fiction. Zynovii Knysh (1906 - 1999) was a Ukrainian author, publisher, and political activist. He was arrested and sent to prison in the 1930s for being a leading member of the Ukrainian Military Organization (UVO), and later, when it became part of Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) - leader in charge of OUN's combat activities. Knysh spent time in DP camps in Austria beyween 1944 and 1946, before emigrating and settling in Canada. He authored more than 60 works, most on UVO and OUN, including the current book, which was published as a stand-alone volume in the "Sribna surma" (The Silver Bugle) series. .

She was considered the archivist of the Ukrainian Diaspora in North America. She would become one of the very first women to be included in the Ukrainian Literary Encyclopedia. Her current book, on the Ukrainian people's love for music and dance, was published for the Jubilee for the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the first Ukrainians in Canada. Very good .

Hryhorii Kosinka, pseud. for Hryhorii Strilets (1899 - 1934) was a Ukrainian author, known for his outstanding short stories. He was a member of several influential literary organizations of the 1920s and 1930s, including Hrono, MARS, and Aspys. With a distinctive, unique style of writing, most of his works reflected the attitudes, ideas, and relations of the Ukrainian peasantry during the years of revolutionary upheaval and war. Accused of spreading "counterrevolutionary theories" and "banditry" through his short stories, he was arrested during Stalin's Great Purge and shot. The current collection contained some of his best, early stories, including "V zhytakh," "Anketa," and "Favst," the last one never finished in his lifetime. Very good .

I; overall in very good condition. Volodymyr Lopushanskyi (1903 - 1987) was a Ukrainian author and editor. He also founded and managed a Ukrainian bookstore in Kholm between 1934 and 1941. He was a prolific writer of historic works, including the current one on the Ukrainian War of Independence, which lasted from 1917 until 1921 between Ukrainian anarchists, Bolsheviks, Poles, White Russians, Germans, and Austro-Hungarians and resulted in the founding of a Ukrainian republic. The two stand-alone volumes were part of the series Kliub Pryiateliv Ukrainskoi Knyzhky, 20 and 21 (Ukrainian Book Club). Very good .
