Woolf, Virginia (1882-1941)
Between the Acts
New York, Harcourt, Brace and Company, 1941. First American Edition. Hardcover. pp. 219. Small 8vo. Publisher's light-blue cloth over boards, gilt rules and lettering to the spine. Light bumping to the spine ends and tips, else, cloth extremities and boards in very good condition. Faint age-toning confined strictly to the endpapers, text-block remains very bright, clean, and unmarked with tight, sound binding; very good and housed in good+ original, un-clipped, dustjacket showing a few chips along the edges of the panels (now housed in protective mylar cover). Overall, very good. Published posthumously, Between the Acts, was Virginia Woolf's final novel and finished shortly before her death. Leonard Woolf notes in the preface: "The MS. of this book had been completed but had not been finally revised for the printer, at the time of Virginia Woolf's death. She would not, I believe, have made any large or material alterations in it, though she would probably have made a good many small corrections or revisions before passing the final proofs.
