Due to the nature of a cookery book and how well used these types of works are, it is rare to retain the original dust wrapper and to find it in this condition. With a frontispiece of 'Le Supplice de Tantale&apos. This work is written by French wine merchant, gourmet and writer Andre Simon. This work provides a guide to food and drink, covering subjects such as Soup, Vegetables, Meat and a comprehensive guide to wine, which Simon is best known for. In the publisher's original cloth with the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally excellent with only light marks to the title to the spine. Light offsetting and the odd spot to the end papers with a 'Times Book Club' label to the rear pastedown. The wrap is generally smart with spotting, light sunning to the spine, the odd small closed tear and minor loss to the head of the spine.
