This set comprises of: "Peter Duck", the eighth impression of the first edition, published in 1937. The third book in the series. With a frontispiece and twenty full-page illustrations. The rear hinge of, 'Peter Duck', is strained but still firm. Spotting to the paste-downs and free endpapers. Previous owner's ink inscriptions to the front free endpaper in, 'The Big Six&apos. Mark to the reverse of the front free endpaper in, 'Secret Water&apos. Internally, binding strained but still firm. Pages bright and clean with some age-toning to the edges. Light spotting towards the front and rear of, 'The Big Six', and the previous owner's ink signature to the reverse of the frontispiece. Peter Duck (1932) is the third book in the 'Swallows and Amazons' series, in which the children sail to Crab Island with Captain Flint and Peter Duck, an old sailor, to recover buried treasure. The Big Six (1940) is the ninth book in the 'Swallows and Amazons' series, and is a detective story based in the Norfolk Broads. Great Northern? (1947) is the twelfth and final completed book of the 'Swallows and Amazons' series, in which the three families of the major characters are all reunited for the first time since Pigeon Post, in the Outer Hebrides. In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally, very smart, though faded to the spine of 'Peter Duck', with a couple of faint marks to the spines of 'Big Six' and 'Great Northern&apos.
