A wonderful edition of Lewis Carroll's "nonsense poem," it bears a short manuscript quote of four lines from the book: "The song of the Jubjub recurred to their minds.." in the hand of noted artist and illustrator Ethel Newcombe Farnsworth (1873 - 1959) and her signature and date (Christmas 1899). Born in New Jersey, she spent the early years of her career in California before moving to and settling in Minneapolis, Minnesota where she continued working until her death. Ill.: 0. 2.
