A map depicting the islands of Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, with what appear to be railroad lines in red, as well as steamboat lines. Part of Cape Cod and New Bedford also depicted. The rail lines may be the narrow gauge lines that were in operation on the islands from the late 1800s to about 1917. May have been part of a travel booklet at some point GOOD condition. Horizontal and vertical fold crease present, with a few other small wrinkles and creases present. Light toning and soiling. A few minor tears along the edges. Good .

A prospectus style piece issued by the Portland Company, featuring several of their engines built for maritime use, as well as photos of ships in which their engines are being used. This includes photographs of the tow boat Nemasket, US Suction Dredge Key West, Str. Katahdin, and the steamer Roosevelt. GOOD condition. 2 hole punches along the spine edge, perhaps as issued. Mine are soiling, wrinkling and creasing, with a small tear at the lower center edge. Good .

Divided in half, the upper half featured the Meat Puppets, playing in support of their upcoming debut album (being released by SST records). Jody Foster's Army also played at this show. The other (August 24th) show featured the British punk band Chelsea, as well as Paris 1942, which, as the flier brags, featured ex-Velvet Underground drummer, Mo Tucker. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning, wrinkling and edgewear. Very Good .

Another section of note is that on poker, discussing draw poker, including a table of chances, table stakes and straight, whiskey and stud poker. GOOD condition. San Francisco, The Back Room/A Fine Hand, Publisher, 1979. Unbound. Single sheet approximately 11 ¼ by 4 ¼ inches. Printed on a single side only. With a few small illustrations. A flyer advertising a 'music' and visual performance including a multi-box, napkin dispenser, violin, harmonica, sticks and stones, voice, tape and various props. This was performed by fig. 7, which may have been a one woman or man group, according to previous owner. Illustrations and performance reminiscent of Fluxus or Happenings style events. This performance was held at a venue called the Back Room, a gallery devoted to mail and performance art in the back of a store "A Fine Hand" that specialized in left hand items. VERY GOOD condition. Four small pieces of tape adhered to the reverse. Very light curling. Very Good .

No Place, No Publisher. Soft Cover. No date or names of family found, although a few dates on some photos indicate this is post 1933, presumably mid 1930s, maybe early 1940s. Flexible card covers. String tied binding. Folio. 63 leaves. Various sized photos throughout, most around 2 ½ by 4 ½ inches, although a few are panoramic shots and some are smaller. Most appear taken by the family, with some appearing to be souvenir photos purchased on the trip. The majority of photos depict areas of Western United States, including Colorado and the Pikes Peak Railroad and various mining operations, Bryce Canyon, Salt Lake City and Zion in Utah, the Grand Canyon, areas in California along the coast, Yosemite, Washington, areas in and around Alberta, Canada, Yellowstone and other areas. The subject is mostly scenery with the family members often posed in the front, as well as a few shots of buildings, small western towns or cities, including those in California. Laid in at the rear is a Shell map of the United States with the route driven apparently traced in ink. A small record of expenditures, filled in by hand is also present, as well as two souvenir letters from Butte, Montana printed on copper. GOOD+ condition. General fading, minor curling, scuffing and edgewear to the covers. Paper toned in the interior, although the photos are crisp. Good .

Black and white illustrations throughout. An apparent promotional magazine issued by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company commemorating 100 years of 'progress.' This features a lengthy history of the railroad, chronicling its establishment of rail lines throughout the Midwest and western United States. With an account of a hold up by Jesse James and the James Gang, 'Lot Jumping' by Oklahoma City pioneers and other historical anecdotes involving the railroad. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad Company opened its first line in 1854, and subsequently established many other lines until folding in 1980. GOOD condition. General toning, with minor foxing to the covers. Light scattered soiling. Some creasing and curling to the covers. Good .
