Les Chefs-D'Oeuvre D'Architecture Et Sculpture Du Xiie Au Xixe Siecle
Paris, Ch. Massin, n.y. Hardcover. Folio (18¼" X 13¼"). Grey cloth spine and marbled paper over boards with paper label string-tied portfolio housing 120 heavy stock rectos-only plates (+ half-title page, title page, 4pp table of contents). Extensive illustrations (1-2 photographs per plate). Overall very good. Portfolio soiled and age toned, with interior pastedowns age toned (dampstained?) near gutter; half-title page naturally shows more age toning than the remainder, which are mainly age toned about the edges, with images themselves untouched and handsome. Decent complete set of this large and lovely detailed photographic plates handsomely recording architectural details in French structures from the 12th through 19th centuries. Given their title page credit apparently sponsored by the "Musee de Sculpture Comparee (Palais de Trocadero)," the Museum of French Monuments founded in 1879, as part of their "Librairie Generale de l'Architecture et des Arts Decoratifs" series. Undated, but likely late 19th century. Scarce. .

Chicago Engineer Supply Co... . Manufacturers of and Dealers in Engineering Supplies and Steam Specialties
Chicago, Chicago Engineer Supply Co, 1926. Hardcover. Small 4to. Black leatherette with red decorative lettering. xiii, 468pp. Extensive illustrations (several partly-colored). Very good. Bit of mild edgewear and minor soiling, and some age toning to the pages. Overall a tight and nice copy of this tough-to-find trade catalogue, with detailed descriptions and countless images of their vast array of specialized parts. The purpose of these catalogues and somewhat acidic quality of the paper stock used makes trade catalogues of this era exceptionally difficult to locate in as sharp a condition as this copy. .

 , The Child's Story-Book
The Child's Story-Book
New York, Kiggins & Kellogg, 1856. Paperback. 48mo (3 5/8" X 2¼"). Stiff green pictorial wrappers. 16pp. Several steel engravings. Very good. Mildly edgeworn, with tight text block lightly age toned. Attractive early copy of the fourth title in this publisher's "Second Series." Front wrapper address ("123 & 125 William St.") differing from title page address ("88 John Street") makes this a transitional printing, likely 1856. Kiggins & Kellogg (founded 1847) published four of these juvenile series, each consistin of 12 of these tiny booklets -- most of which, given their size and usage, are rather scarce in nice condition. This episode consists of six syrupy two-page tales ("The Stag-Hunt," The Cat," "The Little Ship," "The Beggar," "The Robin," The White Rabbit" ) closing with a two-stanza poem "Little Mary." A charming survivor in quite handleable condition. .

Children's Treasures of Famous Stories
Boston, Lothrop Publishing Company, 1900. Hardcover. Small 4to. Glazed pictorial paper over boards with modern brown cloth tape spine. (78pp). Color lithograph frontispiece, numerous illustrations. Good plus. Color boards are rather age toned and quite edgeworn, with rounded corners; durable modern brown cloth tape spine replaces the largely perished original burgundy cloth spine; text block tight and nice, with bit of sporadic age toning and minor occasional foxing. Likely first edition of this collection that includes "Goody Two Shoes," "Jack and the Beanstalk," "The Story of Dick Whittington," "The History of Tom Thumb," "Bo-Peep," "Dame Fidget," "On Donkey-Back," "A Fairyland Trip," "Playing Red Riding-Hood," "A Land Where It Is Always Summer," "What Two Hens Said" and "Houses to Let." A tight, decent, quite handleable copy of a title difficult title to find in choice condition. .

Bit of mild edgewear. Tight, nice later printing of this 1946 story. Titled "A Television Book of Choo Choo" on the front board, this is a volume in the "Television Bonnie Books" series.
