The school's coat of arms is printed in gilt on the front cover "Haymans School, West Derby, Liverpool 1867." Hardback. 264 pages. Contents clean & near fine. Every page has an attractive border in black & white, of flowers, leaves, trees or children, plus an occasional vignette such as a church, castle ruin, or bouquet of flowers. Binding is red half leather, with title on spine in gilt lettering on a black label, & 5 raised bands. Sadly the leather is worn or scuffed on all edges & corners. Marbled endpages. The prize label was awarded for 'Proficiency in Ancient History'. 17.25cm. x 12cm. 1870
