'Butterfly News' had 50,000 readers in 27 countries; founded in 1985, it ceased publication in 1988 due to lack of funds. 'The paper was written, produced and edited by one man, a journalist who believed that lepidoptery should be treated as any other subject . He believed that that all aspects of conservation, ecology, politics, wildlife campaigns, news, and so on - should be covered [..] as one might cover the Middle East if you worked for the Observer.'
