As this form is inserted between pages 18 & 19 at the hinge, the end of the form sticks out btween pages 2 & 3. Possibly there was originally another form between pages 2 & 3? 1950

Its obviously been read & handled, some bottom corners are slightly dog eared, there are 1 or 2 finger prints on the first few pages, but most of this book is clean. White stiff card covers are grubby & corners dog-eared. Canvas spine has 3.5cm. split on front bottom side, & front top side is starting to get unstuck. 1969.

They met in Paris when he was on leave, no names are mentioned & her replies aren't included, but he mentions them. He writes about the casualties and deaths around him, and finally about his own injuries. Frontispiece is (supposedly) a b./w. photograph of one of the letters. Foreword by John Lane who explains how the manuscript came to his office. 196 pages. No d./w. Very good condition, no inscription but endpages slightly foxed, edges of cover are a little worn & corners a bit bumped. 7.75" x 5.25 1918
