Amsterdam, J.H. Laarman, 1860, in-8vo, 264 p. met een gegraveerd Titelblad en 6 gegraveerde platen, hs. 'Malan' op voorblad, orig. Linnen met Goudopdruk, goud op snee. Rug iets verbleekt, toch erg mooi exemplaar (Ticket: .G.J. Lebbing Boekbinder te Amsterdam). Fine copy.
¶ Auswahl holländischer Gedichte und Geschichten. Zum Beispiel dieses Gedicht hier von 'van Lennep' aus dem Jahr 1859, mit dem Titel: Hoe men een vrouw al en niet behandelen moet. Heeft een man hier te land met zijn wijfjen krakkeel, (dat gebeurt nog somtijds, al gebeurt het niet veel!) 't alras 'Kind, vergeef my, 'k zal 't nimmer weer doen! en hy valt om haar hals en hy geeft haar een zoen. Maar de Turk!... och! hy pakt, voor 't begin van den strijd, Ook zijn wijfje om den hals;... doch haar kop is ze kwijt! Auf diese weise folgen 3 strophen mit u.a. als Pointe: Maar de Turk, die nooit veel om een redetwist gaf, snijdt haar hals en diskoersen met éénen slag af. usw. Schürt man 147 Jahre später (2006) diese Art von Türkenhass, landete man zumindest im Gefängnis, oder verlöre gar selbst den Kopf... Overigens onder de plaatjes een allerardigt meisje op schaatsen.
