¶ Sabin 62957. ‘ A collection of great merit and importance’; Ferguson 473; Hill 1361. Of great value for the voyages and travels included, sometimes abridged but often complete. This volume comprising Reifbeck’s Travels through Germany; Coxe’s Travels in Denmark; Coxe’s Travels in Norway, Fortia’s Travels in Sweden; Coxe’s Travels in Russia. D.N.B. John Pinkerton (1758-1826). ‘The [above work] was a useful compilation in its day, being the most voluminous that had hitherto appeared with the exception of the French ‘Histoire Générale des Voyages’ (Paris, 1785) ... A large number of very rare volumes of travels were incorporated, and the average merit of the plates was considerable.’
