Etching on laid paper, by Jacques Lepautre after the designs of Adam Philippon from the book "Curieuses recherches de plusieurs beaus morceaus d'ornemens antiques et modernes, tant dans la ville de Rome ques autres villes et lieux d'Italie" published in 1645, sheet size 231 x 135 mm., cropped within platemark, otherwise excellent.An ornamented ceiling with an octagonal coffer that contains an image of Aeneas fleeing Troy with Anchises and Ascanius. Above that a rosette surrounded by four figures and acanthus scrolls in a star-shaped panel.

Four pages mounted together with ornaments, from the late seventeenth and beginning of the eighteenth century. Pages are numbered from 5 to eight and each contains three ornaments, with the exception of page 7 which shows for horizontal friezes. Very finely engraved, probably by Anthonie de Winter (1652-ca. 1717). The patterns are both geometrical and floreal. l Engraving and etching on paper, four pages mounted together; total: 513 x 350; some foldings but plates in very good condition
