Montgomery, L. M.
Further Chronicles of Avonlea
Boston, The Page Company, 1920. 1st. Hardcover. Goss, John. First Impression, March, 1920" stated on copyright page. Pp. xi, 301 + (6) ads + 12 ads, frontis with tissure guard, 5 full-page plates, octavo format in tan cloth, pictorial front paste-down color label with portrait, gilt titles to front cover and spine. A very attractive copy, all original with no repairs, firm hinges, fresh contents with no significant wear or tears, few small spots. The cloth is in Very Good condition with some mild soiling from handling, titles fully legible, though spine titles somewhat faded, front titles very fresh. There are no pull-tears, cloth not worn through at bottom or fore-edges of boards, just four small wear spots along the top-edges. The front label has a few very tiny scuffs to the "frame", however the actual portrait image has no noticeable wear. Uncommon thus. The original "175" price is pencilled onto the front free endpaper. This is an above-average copy. Very Good.
