Book block without binding. The first page has the name H. Duin written in pencil. The contents until page V suffer from water- and bookworm damage. The book is in fair state. 14 x 22,5 cm, [2] [xxxxi][3] 1-172 pp. With the medallion portraits of Wolff and Deken in front of the title page. The book contains 40 emblem-like Illustrations after J. Buys, engraved by A. Cardon. Only the title page illustration is signed, but the other illustrations show the same characteristics.

Set of four hardcovers with leather spines and paper covered boards. The spines are divided in six shields of which the second shield shows the gilded title on a red background and the fourth the volume. The mock ribs are decorated with a gilded pattern. Each volume contains an ex libris (Dr. O.H. Dijkstra). The spines of volume two and four are slightly loose at the top. The corners of all the books are a bit worn. Overall the books are in good condition (no foxing). Rare edition. 13 x 21 cm, vol. 1. [4] 1-208 pp., vol. 2. [4] 209-450 pp., vol. 3. [4] 451-676 pp., vol. 4. [4] 677-916 pp. The books are illustrated and engraved by J. Punt and Vinkeles (each story is accompanied by an engraving).l The French author Jean de La Fontaine (1621-1695) was one of the most influential fable writers of all time. Brown leather hardcover whit gilt decoration and title on the spine. The spine and board edges are scuffed and the front board shows faded handwriting. Marbled edges with some pen marks.The first endpaper contains a handwritten description (Kon. Antheneum Antw.). The contents display some smudges, writing and small tears. The first and last page show larger tears. [1] [page 15-18 incorrectly rebound] iii-x, 11-248 pp. The work contains sixty-six woodcuts, two per page.
