Dampstaining along top and bottom edges throughout text block. Endpapers tanned, and patchy tanning on pages 140-141. Light foxing and flecks of staining throughout; text is otherwise unmarked. Binding is a little shaky but secure enough for handling. Sarah Emma Edmonds (1841-1898) was a Canadian-born woman who claimed to have served as a Union soldier and spy during the Civil War. Historians have long doubted the veracity of her memoir. This is the first edition under this revised title. Complete with 9 plates. .
