With the bookplate of the Rt Hon Sir William Bull (MP of Hammersmith) to the front pastedown. The binding is intact but scruffy (rubbed, sunned and scuffed); there is an ownership inscription else the contents are in VG condition. A good copy overall. Hard to date, but presumably pre-World War 1 as the Austria-Hungarian empire is shown.

Original red cloth spine, colour illustration to the front board. The lower edges of the boards are rubbed, the text pages are tanned, one leaf has some chafing to the top edge, and there is a gift inscription (dated Xmas 1941). Overall, the book is in good condition.The original dustwrapper is present but is in fair condition only (front panel torn with loss). Contains the following stories: John, Topsy and the Raven; The Kidnapping of Jemima; The World's Greatest Circus; The Fun of the Fair. The frontispiece is similar in style to Arthur Rackham, but I have not been able to decipher the signature of the artist.
