Privately printed in 1940, this copy is numbered 136 of 150, and signed by Pforzheimer on the frontispiece of Vol.I. Three cloth covered volumes in total, gilt stamp embossed to front and rear board, encased within a cloth covered card slip-case. This is an ex-academic library copy from the University of Oxford, all volumes have bookplates adhered to the front pastedowns, a 'scored through' scanner ticket on FEP's and other occasional stamps and stickers. Bookplates have a 'withdrawn from library' stamp overlaid. Slip-case is shelfworn, with wear to cloth at edges and notable discolouration overall. However, case is structurally sound, without weakness or damage at any join. Boards are somewhat marked and discoloured, more notably towards the spine. Original rust coloured label and a gold embossed stamp of Oxford University to each spine. Gilded page block head with rough cut face and foot, each lightly stamped. Light foxing at the FEPs of Vol.I. Within, leaves are tightly bound, and text and photographic plates are in beautiful condition, bright and unmarked. More photographs are available upon request.CN.
