Description: No Place, No publisher, 1975. Unbound. No publisher, place or date. Presumed Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, 1975. Two 8 ½ by 11 inch sheets of paper stapled at the upper left corner, plus a 17 by 11 inch piece of paper with a descriptive floor plan, folded in half. A printed statement by the curator for the Whitney Museum, Marcia Tucker, explaining how the Whitney intended to display the variety of installations, sculpture and other pieces by artist Richard Tuttle, accompanied by a floor plan of the gallery showing where pieces were to be displayed. Tucker states that many of Tuttle's works could only be seen in person, and that some would essentially be executed by the artist during the exhibition. She also mentions that the exhibition catalog would be written during the exhibition. Perhaps notably, Marcia Tucker lost her job at the Whitney because of this exhibition. It was harshly reviewed by critics, especially Hilton Kramer, who stated, in part, that "less is less." (see Wikipedia for previous information). Richard Tuttle is an American artist, who is often considered a minimalist, and who has worked in a variety of medium. Marcia Tucker founded the New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York in 1977, among many other contributions to the contemporary art scene in America. VERY GOOD condition. Vertical fold crease present. Minor toning and wrinkling. Very faint stain to the front page. Very Good .
