Printed on one side only, with a color illustration of an eagle, bell and US flag at the top left. Issued for voyage #37, eastbound, dinner fare featured. The newspaper, the Tiger Rag, measures 8 ½ by 11 inches and is two leaves, stapled at the top left corner. Poor print quality. Newsletter contains ship procedures, international news, a brief biography of the ship and a summary of the various student groups aboard. The S.S. Marine Tiger was originally built at the Kaiser Shipyards in California in 1944, intended to be a troop ship. It ran from 1944 to 1946, and transported Italian prisoners of war from Naples to Los Angeles. It was placed in the reserve fleet in 1946, and eventually became a container ship before being scrapped in 1973. Both pieces in GOOD condition with some toning to the menu and heavy toning to the newsletter. Minor soiling and curling at the corners. Faint horizontal fold creases to the newsletter. Good .
