Description: Houston, Joseph Lessing, Publisher. Unbound. 1982 to 1984. Blue paper pocketed folder with loose sheets in the interior. According to the intro letter, this is the first issue of Boomtown Reality, a zine type work dedicated to presenting an alternative side to Houston. Contributors were expected to submit art or words and when 100 submissions were received, the zine would be published in an edition of 100, one sent to each contributor. Date on intro letter is 1982, although some pieces in the collection have 1984. According to the editors the mail art magazine Arte Postale was the model for this. Most of the contents are assemblage and clip art, using appropriated imagery to comment on culture and politics. A few pieces appear hand colored. In GOOD+ condition. Some fading, minor soiling, scuffing and wrinkling to the folder. Light toning to the paper in the interior. Minor creasing along the extremities of some pieces. Good .
