Author: No author given Title: Come One... Come All to Kangaroo Court. The University Vs. The People. Rally to Open Hearings. Nyu, Sds Protest Flyer
Description: New York, Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), presumed Publisher, 1969. Unbound. Single sheet, printed on both sides. 8 ½ by 11 inches. A double sided flyer advertising a rally presumably in support of Robert Kirkman, leader of the SDS at NYU, who was suspended for his role in a 1968 protest that disrupted the speech of Nguyen Huu Chi. Chi was pelted with an egg at this protest. 150 protestors, according to the NYU's website, gathered at this protest, held on February 20, 1969. One side of the flyer has a crude drawing of a kangaroo, with handwritten block letters. The other side reprints a letter from Ralph F. Bischoff, Professor of Law at NYU, to Robert G. Kirkman, discussing the parameters of the tribunal. Handwritten annotations to this letter are included, highlighting the venue as "a little fortress with steel gates," and questioning the overall impartiality and fairness of the tribunal. GOOD condition. Some creasing and wrinkling, mostly at the corners. Light toning. Printing a bit light, presumably from the duplication process. Good .
