Parkinson was known as an early advocate for the Beat writers, promoting the work of Allen Ginsberg, Robert Duncan and others. As a professor at Berkeley he was the victim of an attempted murder by a former student (the teaching assistant with him at the time was killed). GOOD condition. Moderate browning to the wraps, with some soiling. Superficial scuffing to the wrappers, perhaps the result of insect damage. Minor toning in the interior. Good .
