Cover states, "A liniment for man and beast. Yellow wrapper for animal and white for human flesh." A promotional almanac touting the effectiveness of Merchant's Gargling Oil in the healing or cure of various ailments for humans and animals. With the usual monthly almanac interspersed with tips for remedying various sicknesses and wounds using the gargling oil. First sold in 1833 by George W. Merchant, this gargling oil was sold in two versions, one for man and one for animals. GOOD condition. Minor staining, soiling, wrinkling and creasing to the wraps. A few faint pencil scribbles to the front wrap, with an old price in pencil. Hole and string for hanging present. General toning to the paper in the interior. Some uneven fading to the printing. Good .
