LACKING any wraps and frontis illustration that were issued. 56 pp. A single issue of this magazine, featuring a continuation of the captivity narrative and French and Indian War account of John Elliot; speculation on the origin of Native Americans in North and South America, claims of the United States on Denmark; a biography of Fisher Ames, with a portrait plate, etc. Samuel L. Knapp edited the Boston Gazette in 1824, and established this and the National Republican in the mid 1820's. He was noted for biographical writings (Appleton's Cyclopedia of American Biography). GOOD condition. Minor to moderate chipping and creasing along the fore edge, with a few minor tears. Faint dampstain along the upper margin and fore edge, affecting the first several pages. Interior clean and solid. Good .
