A small piece written to accompany an exhibition of work by artists who were members of the Tovarishchevsto, The Fellowship for Experimental Art in Leningrad, first formed in 1981. At the time of its founding, most artists in the Soviet Union were members of the Union of Artists, sanctioned by the state, and considered official artists, with associated perks. The members of this group in Leningrad were not officially acknowledged as artists, and often created art that did not conform with socialist realism standards. This work provides brief biographies of the artists, accompanied by photos of them, when available. Artists include Afrika (Sergei Bugaev), Baby Badalov, Lucian Dolinskiy, Elena Figurina, Valentin Gerasimenko, Marina Koldobskaya and others. VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading, rubbing and edgewear to the covers. Interior solid and clean, with soiling to the second to last page. Very Good .
