The original Tibet Society newsletter (1967-68) became the Tibet Society bulletin, which contained both scholarly articles and organizational news; in 1980 the bulletin was discontinued and succeeded by a different publication, the Journal of the Tibet Society, intended to be a refereed publication containing scholarly articles. The Tibet Society newsletter, new series, was revived in 1972 to cover organizational news, information about events, and the like. Information about Tibetan education, social and scholarly issues, including the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives, bibliographies, and a 17 page membership list.
