Geological report by J. King Merritt, First annual report of the president, for 1855, and a chromolithograph map depicting planer and longitudinal views of the Santiago River "Falls of the Santiago River Mineral de Verguas." This report confidently states: "I most heartily congratulate the shareholders in possessing properties, that I do most honestly believe will produce more in the aggregate than California has ever yet produced" (p. 51). OCLC locates three copies: LCP, Berkeley, and Hagley [w/o plates]. Overall good; map detached but otherwise fine.
