Discussion of "the "Wide Awakes" (a youth organization and later a paramilitary organization cultivated by the Republican Party during the 1860 presidential election) in the first issue and the Italian war with Garabaldi in the second issue. Misprint on first issue on page 2 giving date as October 1. This issue not at AAS. Very good clean copies with small marginal tears.
