Hill, with his bookplate. Howison's account of his travels to the Northwest territories, with his positive evaluation of the people and country and their prospects for the future. "The flag, taken ashore when, in 1846, Howison's vessel was wrecked in the Columbia, was the first to wave over Oregon" - Howes. Howes H738. Small bookplate on pastedown else a very good unopened (uncut) copy with scattered light foxing and some darkening, in a fine custom-made folding case.
