Harris, William T. - The Psychology of Manual Training. Reprinted from

Title: The Psychology of Manual Training. Reprinted from "Education," May, 1889
Description: [Washington, D.C.], [National Education Association], 1889. Offprint. Stapled paper wrappers. 22 pp. 8vo. William Torrey Harris (1835-1909) was an important American educator and wrote this just before his beginning his 17 year term as the U.S. Commissioner of Education, a position in which he often applied his Hegelian philosophical ideals. In this piece we wrote: that the best education created "a system that secures the greatest self-activity of the pupil while it builds up in his character perfect obedience to law, divine and human, and a sacred regard for truth." OCLC locates only 10 copies of this reprint. A very good copy with a touch of soiling on wrappers.
