Gonon's was a semaphoric telegraph, which "Morse thought originally was an Electro-Magnetic Telegraph; but which afterwards turned out to be only a form of the common telegraph formerly in use." The issue came up in court cases over Morse's patents. E. Gonon was a Professeur de Telegraphic. A very good copy with light foxing.
