In both speeches and resolves Caleb Strong and the legislature argued against the constitutional amendment proposed by Kentucky to exclude the Federal judiciary from a number of cases that crossed state lines. Includes a notice that the amendment to ban the slave trade is felt to be inexpedient by a number of states. Shaw & Shoemaker 8869. A very good untrimmed copy, title and date inked on front wrapper, light scattered foxing, title page and a few edges darkened and worn, but impressions quite sharp. Pages 17-20 bound out of order.
