Main volume (1882) was a gift to the Commandery from David Fitzgerald, the author and Librarian of the War Department; the 1891 volume is the gift of the Hon. Daniel Fitzgerald. Good to very good copies with the bookplate of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, Commandery of the State of Illinois on front pastedowns, shelf stickers on foot of backstrips, their stamp on titles, Catalogue has wear at spine ends, 1884 addition has soiled and torn front wrapper, 1891 addition has a tear to the head of the spine and bumped corners; all interiors lightly browned at the edges otherwise crisp and unmarked.
