Includes "Reprints of the Reports of Valley Forge Park Commission for the Years 1894, 1896, 1900" published by the commission in 1906 (Harrisburg); and the individual reports for 1902, 1904, 1906, and 1908. The Commission began its work in 1893, and these reports show the tremendous amount acomplished as the park came together in its early years. Maps include: General Encampment: 1777-78 (27 x 17 inches); Valley Forge Park and Vicinity-1908 (12 5/8 x 8 1/2 inches); and Topographical Map of Camp Ground (26 1/2 x 17 inches). A very good copy, soiled boards, with the bookplate of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States, Commandery of the State of Illinois on front pastedown, shelf sticker on backstrip and front board, one leaf chipped along fore edge; binding tight, maps fine.
