Description: Boston, Printed by Samuel Hall at his Printing-Office, No. 53, Cornhill, 1790. First edition. Stitched self wrappers. 31 pp. 8vo. Joseph Willard (1738-1804) was President of Harvard. Halliard was pastor of the First Parish church in Cambridge and unlike his predecessors, Appleton and Brattle, Arminian rather than Calvinistic in theology. Evans 23085. Sabin 104055. ESTCW29179. About good, lacking the half title, small hole in first two leaves affecting a few words on p. 6, small triangular piece clipped from margin of one leaf, somewhat darkened, untrimmed fore edge a bit ragged.
