Johnson's well written message in which he systematically addressed the need to revitalize our urban areas, to follow through on urban renewal, and in which he asks for the creation of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): "all part of an effort to build the great cities which are at the foundations of our hopes for a Great Society." An important document outlining one of the major social programs of the 1960's and a significant piece of Johnson's domestic legacy. A very good+ copy.
