Reports an explosive growth in the mail order business in the preface to the catalogue: "A single glance at this method of making purchases is enough to show the convenience, economy, and satisfaction to be derived therefrom." Scarce. OCLC locates none of this year, a few scattered copies from later years at Harvard's Baker Lib. Hagley, and UFLA, and only one earlier, 1878, at the UVA in the Albert H. Small American Trade Catalogs Collection. A very good copy, chips on the wrappers and spine, mail fold, some minor foxing, small edge tear to one leaf, otherwise very clean.
